I HATE SEMENOV

January 13th, 2008 by Doug

It was like the Twilight Zone. Greiss in net instead of Nabby? No Bernier? McLaren on the IR? What else could happen.

IT’S ALIVE! IT’S ALIVE. FRANKENSTEIN IS ON THE ICE. SEMENOV. BRAINS! BRAAAAAIIIIIINNNNSSSS!!! PUTTING ON THE RITZ!!! I #$%*ing hate this guy and he proved why he is the worst player on the Sharks. Don’t believe me? Check this out.

Todd Bertuzzi scored in the 1st period to make the game a 1-1 tie. Guess who was on the ice? Semenov.

Corey Perry brought the score to 3-2 Sharks near the end of the 2nd period. On the ice again. Frankenov.

Then, the killer. Standing like a man-made block of lifeless tissue in front of the net with an Abbey-Normal brain in his head - Chernobyl’s finest living monster, Semenov, had Doug Weight’s shot bounce off his tree-trunk and past Greiss with 28 seconds left, deflating the Sharks and dashing any dreams the team had of pulling off their finest road win of the season.

WHY? Why is he on the ice for 17 minutes? Is Ozolinsh dying? Did he hit on Ron Wilson’s wife? Did he run off to Mexico with Britney? This turd Semenov is a -8 in 14 games and, for some reason, Ron Wilson continues to run The Monster out there to torture Sharks’ fans. There is a reason why this guy hasn’t played more than 46 games in five NHL seasons, why Florida - a team that doens’t exactly scream “Defensive Depth” - gave up on him. Terrible. Disgusting. In a matter of seconds this went from one of the best wins of the year to, quite possibly, the most disappointing. The worst part is, Semenov will probably be back out on the ice on Tuesday night vs. Phoenix. Mrs. Gretzky has the odds at 2 to 1.

I’m going to start drinking now…..

That’s what I want to know… Why in the fuck is Ronnie putting him on the ice with less than a minute to play. I’m hearing he was out there cause Rivet wasn’t able to Finish, the game, but there’s 3 other guys that he could’ve put on the ice that would’ve been better.

Even Ehrhoff would’ve been better out there than Frankendick. I feel sorry for Pickles tonight having to be paired with him.

Astonishing lack of judgement on RW’s part. If he has any brains, or sense of redemption, he will never, ever dress Seminov again. The guy has made no contribution to the team at all. I hope you season ticket holders boo the sh*t out of him like he’s Pronger when they come back to the Tank. I also hope one of these locker room reporters can dig in to why Oz isn’t playing.

What a shame for the other guys on the ice, especially Griess, to have put in such a solid effort only to have it clusterf’d in the end by one jackoff. RW should have had the foresight not to play the guy. Seminov is responsible for the loss, RW is accountable for the loss. (I do love him starting Griess, though. It shows the kid that the team has confidence in him, and forced him to step up.)

And am I the only one who gets physically sick to his stomach watching the Ducks celebrate a victory? It’s gonna take me a while to get over this one.

In closing, I think Seminov and the Rizz should get married by their pal (and biggest fan) RW in Canada somewhere, then they can have a lovechild who could quite possibly be the worst hockey player in the history of the game.

I agree with all of the above. Anybody else notice Frankenstein on the PP? Davison should be back on D instead of this guy.

The worst was before the last goal. He stands behind the net waiting, waiting for the puck to get to him. Then he cradles it for a couple of seconds, letting people close in, then whips off a limp-dick clearing attempt, which is promptly gloved down at the blueline. Thanks for nothing.

Oh, and the Rizz can actually kill penalties, so that makes him much better than our new favorite punching bag. Rizz won’t win the game for you, but he won’t lose it either.

As a Ducks fan, I’ve got to thank you guys for that one last night.
As a fan of the game, I can see why you’d be upset with the D your team had out there at the end of the game. But isn’t it an assistant coach - not RW - that controls that?
Also, if you are going to be pissed at RW, how about the choice of goaltender. Wouldn’t Griess have been better off against the Leafs? The second goal the Ducks scored has to fall on him - and I don’t think Nabby would have been out of position like that.

As an aside, come playoff time, Milan better toughen up or it’ll be a repeat of two years ago.

The reason Griess played last night instead of sat is because now Nabby gets more rest.

    He plays Sat

    Rests sat night

    Rests all day sunday

Rests all day monday (gets back in mindset for tuesday)

If he rests sat, he’s back getting ready for a game on sun and normal rest on monday.

this allowed him to increase his rest available. he prob will only rest down the stretch a few more times. i don’t think this was a bad move.

Hoo boy, that was two dirty points last night. Heck, I was apologizing to Sharks fans on the way out of Honda Center. Thank god Dougie Weight can’t shoot within 5 feet of the net — perfect Semenov range.

Nice move with the Phil Hartman reference. ;-)

Bernier was out with the flu, and it wasn’t Nabby’s decision to put in Greiss, it was Ron’s. Not a bad idea, considering he needs to be tested against potential playoff teams before the deadline.

I thought you all would like this as well.
