Let the Jamie Baker/Mike Ricci/Brian Marchment era begin!

It makes sense… even Ricci couldn’t describe what his exact job was with the team last season.

Oi. I love Bakes and Ricci. As players. There’s not a single game as a coach at any level among Ricci, Marchment, and Baker. I’d be looking at successful AHL head coaches or NHL assistants. Someone with some creativity, so we’re not so easily picked apart when it counts.

No rookie coach has ever won the Stanley Cup. And by rookie, I just mean new coaches to the NHL, not coaches with no coaching experience at all. I like those guys too, but I’m not willing to throw a season away to get them up to speed.

Pat Burns is, without question, the front-runner. Already has the respect of Jumbo Joe and has won the Cup. He has everything Ron Wilson lacked–empowering leadership, finals experience, reputation for grit and guts.
